By- Laws
1. The dues will be $30.00 per year, which includes a subscription to The National Gardener, payable the first of April each year. A member joining anytime during the year will pay $30.00
2. The Club will meet the second Friday of each month at 12:00 noon. Exhibits will be in place by 11:45 a.m. Any exhibit received after 11:45 a.m. will be displayed but not judged.
3. The Hospitality Committee will be responsible for the hostesses each month and all activities during the year.
4. Each active member will be a hostess once during the year.There will be three hostesses for each monthly meeting. If there are less that three hostesses, the Club will pay a portion of the expense of the meal.
5. In addition to the specific design classifications, horticulture grown by the exhibitor may be entered every month, Arboreal classes may be divided into three sub-classes: Flowering, Fruited and Foliage.
6. The use of bought plant material as specimens is prohibited. Bought plant material may be used in designs each month.
7. Treated dried plant material and/or weathered wood may be used in Designer's Choice classifications. The use of artificial plant material is prohibited.
8. The Sunshine Committee will be responsible for all expressions of care sent by the Club. A Club member in a local hospital may receive a gift the cost not to exceed $20.00 A memorial/ floral spray for a Club member will not exceed $50.00. A memorial for a member's spouse will not exceed $25.00 Cards may be sent for illness or death of a family member. During Christmas season, a gift or card will be sent to non-resident honorary members.
9.The Corresponding Secretary will send all cards and notes of welcome to new members.
10. Honorariums may be made to the Club and will be acknowledged by the Treasurer.
11.An award will be give to the member who has the most entries in the Horticulture Division and the member who has the most entries in the Design Division during the Club year. Each award will be a Vision of Beauty calendar.
12. The expense for required attendance to district function will be paid by the Club for the President or chosen delegate. When the President or a chosen delegate attends a function held outside the district, the registration expense will be paid by the Club provided money is available in the Club treasury.
13. A TFGC lifetime membership will be given to the retiring President. A Christmas gift will not be given.
14. Gifts will be exchanged at the December meeting. Price of the gift is not to exceed $10.00.
15. A gift to a speaker, not to exceed $30.00, will be purchases by the program Chairman (First Vice-President).
16. A member making a meal reservation and unable to attend will be responsible for the cost of the meal, The cost of a meal for a prospective member or guest wishing to attend a meeting will be the responsibility of the sponsoring member (or of the prospective member if not sponsored by a Club member.)
17. A member leaving the Club may be made and honorary member at the discretion of the Executive Board.
18. A member must attend a minimum of six monthly meetings during the club year or be dropped from the roll. (Extenuating circumstances will be reviews by the Executive Board.)
19. A member who cannot attend six monthly meetings due to extenuating circumstances may choose to become and inactive member. An inactive member will pay dues and the cost of meals if attending a meeting, but will be exempt from serving as a hostess. This action must be approved by the Executive Board
